I'm sewing, I swear I am... but...

Hi folks!
This is the world's most boring post, but I'll update in a couple days. I'm sewing stuff, but there's a lot going on around here this week! Doesn't help that I can't find the camera when I need it...

On the sewing table is a new nightgown for Little Miss Princess. I got some flannel-backed silky Winnie the Pooh fabric for $1/yd, and I'm using Butterick 4910, as usual. Cut and ready to sew. In the assembly phase is my new spring jacket, from the December 2008 Burda. I think it's #106, and just got through the darts and pockets, so I think the rest should be easy!

It's either allergies or a cold, but my sinuses are going nuts! I'm slightly under the weather, and chose to nap this afternoon instead of sew. That was definitely 2 hours well spent, I'm feeling a little better now.

Tomorrow I'll be traveling to Northwood University, where a former student has chosen to recognize me as one of her most influential teachers. Since she's an academic honors student, she was allowed to invite me to this luncheon as a recognition for both of us. I'm looking forward to visiting with her (she graduated 3 years ago), but the hour drive is a bummer. I might squeeze a little sewing time tomorrow night.

Sunday it's supposed to snow?! We spent a couple hours outside today enjoying the park and playground, but it happens every year here in Michigan. It's winter... it's spring! Oh, wait... it's winter again... now we skip to summer... no, wait it's winter again...

Monday is the most exciting news of all. I have the day off from work and we're picking up our new camper. I'm so excited! I know this has absolutely nothing to do with sewing, but we're all looking forward to spending some quality family time together this summer.

So, the next post will have sewing pictures, I swear! And if you made it this far, I have a question for you... anyone interested in swapping some fabric? Dawn and I did this and it seems to be really fun way to mix up the stash (for just the cost of postage). I have some leftover (at least a yard) that I know I won't use, and if anyone is interested in trading the same amount, I'm game. Post a comment, and let me know!

That's Alaska right now too. Yesterday it was melting like crazy. Today? Another 8" of snow. Have fun with your camper!

Congratulations on the recognition from you former student! The drive may be a drag but I'm sure the event will be worth it.

Wow what an honor being chosen by your former student as the most influential teacher!! That speaks volumes about the kind of person you are!!! Here in SE TN it just rains, rains, rains, and rains again!! I think the drought that we've had for the past few years must be over after this wet winter!!! We're supposed to get severe storms tonight!

Being recognized by your former student is such an accomplishment. It must feel awesome to know you touched someone is such a special way.

Please do not say that "snow" word! Any more before next winter and there will be an uprising!

Enjoy the camper. And, if and when you can make it to CCC, (the 4th Tuesday of each month), drop me an email, and I'll give you specifics and plan to meet you there.

congratulations on the recognition from your former student. How wonderful is that? I have no doubt you are just one of those great, inspirational teachers. My daughters each had one who literally turned their lives around and I will be forever grateful.

I'm up for the swap. I have a fabric that has been screaming "Kristine" since our last email and was going to approach you about a swap. Let me know in an email.

Congratulations! Despite all the flack many kids give them, teachers do make a difference. :) I have one teacher that I'll always remember with love. She's was definetly a huge source of support during my h.s. years.

Hugs,
Lory
