Sewing Mojo, Where Did You Go?

Dear Sewing Mojo,
I'm not sure what I did to offend you, but will you please come back? I know it was frustrating when the embroidery machine "seemed" broken and nothing fun could even be considered until it was fixed. How was I supposed to know that cap brims are strong enough to bend metal attachments all by themselves? I did my best to fix the problem quickly, calling dealer after dealer, and even emailing Brother (who didn't fix the problem either). Thank God for Gene at Leabu Sewing Center in Ann Arbor, who always has the right answer and the time to help! 20 caps done, 40 shirts to go... (oops, that didn't help, did it?)

Is it the prom dresses? I decided to turn the second one down, if that helps. She looked at me funny when I showed her the patterns, and I just knew in the pit of my belly, she's gonna be a tough client to please. And all the kinks are worked out on the muslin of the first dress, and I can't finish that gown without you. Yes, I wish I got to wear such a pretty dress, too.

I promise not to take anymore "home dec" jobs, how's that? Turning a window panel into 2 valances isn't fun (in my opinion) but it's easy money, and can be taken care of in no time (if you'd get your butt back here and help me!).

I know it sucks cutting out the pattern size I require. I don't like those numbers, either. I'm jealous while reading reviews of single digit sizes, but I wasn't that size before the kids either! Are you waiting to return until the 20 pounds (Wii Fit Goal) is shed? That might be awhile...

I'm bummed that the NYC trip is off, too. I was really hoping that enough girls from school would make the trip a reality, but the economy sucks and no one wants to spend money. We'll get there soon, I'm sure, hopefully...

It's the weather, isn't it? It's starting to feel like Spring outside, letting me play outside with the kids instead of stay inside and sew. It's a tough time of year to want to be inside, but when the sun goes down, there's no reason not to work on something! Speaking of Spring, thanks for making a brief appearance on Saturday to help me trace and cut a BWOF spring jacket. But I need you to return so I can actually sew the darn thing together before Summer hits!

Whatever the reason for your absence, I miss you and hope you'll consider returning for good. That new Threads issue arrived today, and it looked like a good one! C'mon... I signed us up for the Jeans Sew Along at PR, and I'm sure Little Miss Princess would appreciate your help. Surely, you wouldn't let a little girl down...

I really hope you come to your senses and come home. I have some great Spring dresses planned, the kids need new jammies, and there are some gorgeous fabrics in the stash just begging to become short sleeve tops. Please?

I'm amazed you do all that you do. You would leave most people sittingin the dust! Maybe the mojo will return when you're not quite so busy with obligations.

Good luck!

I think Mr. Mojo, (only a man would leave you stranded like this in sewing land) will be back soon. Spring does require us to get out there and wake up the senses. Enjoy your gardening for a while and then it will all come back.

Aww, the NYC trip is off?! That's such bad news because I know how excited you were. Any chance you can swing a trip with the girlfriends like you mentioned before?

Well I hope mojo comes home soon. I bought a new machine, got some pretty fabric and finally made my first WOF pattern. It helped. g

Okay, what do you need? You need some bad '90s rap music and singing at the top of your lungs. I see a fast knit top in your immediate future.

I hear ya - I've been there too. That darned mojo seems to vapourize at the most inopportune times!
