I chose navy blue crepe back satin and china silk from Fabric.com
It went together easily, except for trying to figure out the pleating and assembly of the folded band, and by the time I got to the neck drape, I just did it my own way.
I had to make a few minor adjustments, but it now fits her perfectly and she absolutely loves it. I'm excited for her to enjoy the cruise, and she described the dress as "very, very special". That what friends are for, right?
Next up: Little Miss Princess put a request in for a new skirt. To wear to school. Tomorrow.
No rest for the wicked... (or is it weary?)

Awesome!! It's very cute at that length. Nice work!
Wow that dress is so pretty. She'll be the best dressed lady on the cruise. What a great friend you are for her.
What a wonderful gift! How lucky you are to have each other as friends!
You're a good friend! And she's going to look great her cruise.
And I think we know who the "wicked" is and who the "weary" is. Or at least, if your house is anything like my house.
Wow we! You did a fab job.

Really pretty. LOVE the color!
Hotchacha! Perfect for an evening of dancing on her cruise. You are blessed to have such a close friendship.
You are a great friend, it looks lovely. It's nice to actually see what that pattern looks like too because the magazine picture covers up most of the bodice!
So beautiful! I love that color and the detail up top is really lovely. :)
Wow, what an awesome friend you are! I don't know if I'd have the courage to sew for a friend or not. Well done!
It turned out beautifully! What a great friend you are.
