Can't. Pull. The. Trigger...

Vogue + Color Blocking = HEADACHE

I spent too much time over the last couple days searching online for appropriate fabrics (wool crepe) in pretty colors (not red/black). I was hoping for some pretty jewel tones, like in the Kohl's ad I saw today...

I finally settled on some charcoal gray with burgundy/cranberry... but, I just couldn't pull the trigger. Know why? STASH GUILT.
I have too many other fabrics already here, in my house, on my sewing table, and although they don't fit this particular project...
I need to make them into something pretty first.

See you on the flip side of a few outfits!

I really like the second pattern and like you love the jewel colors of the Kohl's ad. Why isn't we can't find the fabric that matches RTW? Good luck sewing some stash, then you can reward yourself with the new fabric?

I have been looking for beautifully colored wool crepe, too. Where did you find it?

Gawd, I never feel that way. I have fabric buying blackouts when I just don't want to add more fabric to the collection but I never experience stash/fabric guilt. I must be missing that gene...*smile*

Carolyn! Just the person I've been thinking of all week! The Queen of Colorblocking! What fabric did you use, and where did you buy it?
Rachel: I looked everywhere and found a color here and a color there, but not 2 in the same store! Gorgeous Fabrics had a lovely "cranberry", Vogue had a lot of "crepe solid" if you type that in the search box, you'll see. Mood had some, along with Fashion Fabrics Club and Fabric.com
Someone along the way recommended "gabardine" if wool crepe wasn't working out. I'd consider 4 ply silk if it wasn't so cold here in Michigan!

For the Tom and Linda Platt I went 1/2 'my collection' fabric and 1/2 new yardage--wool crepe in teal from 'my collection' and wine from Vogue Fabrics (bricks and mortar).

Thank you for providing the phrase I've been looking for: STASH GUILT. That phrase perfectly explains how I can wander around JA's and not buy anything. Everything I saw had a twin at home in my staxh! Of course, coming home empty-handed is a sight not to be believed!

I love that term Stash guilt. I have it badly. I also have pattern guilt.
