Pattern Shopping

I had to swing into Joann's for a zipper (Halloween costume under construction), and McCalls and Buttericks were on sale for $1 and $2. I picked up these goodies...

Butterick 5610

Butterick 5356

You might be shaking Your head at me on this one, but I have a plan. It involves this $900 Miu Miu blouse...

Anyhow, I also picked up these McCall's:
McCalls 5978

McCalls 6436

And last (but definitely not least), McCalls 6433 (my fave)

Those pleats! I have a wonderful deep purple wool crepe that will be perfect for this. Originally, I grabbed it to make a Missoni knock-off, using a zig-zag lightweight sweater knit and the view without the pleats... My sewing eyes are bigger than my calendar allows!

I think you will be pretty busy once the costumes are out of the way. How is that going? I honestly don't miss costume time. Prom time, yes, costume time, no.

Little Miss *loves* Mommy-made costumes, but The Boy is in a superhero phase, so I always get off easy there! This year she wanted to be a butterfly, so we bought some fabulous glittery wings, and she'll have a sparkly dress and fashionable vest (to hide the wing straps). I am actually pretty excited, as I think the whole look will be very cool!

Egads! I already own way too many of these patterns and they are unused as of yet! The Muu Muu blouse knock-off will be interesting to see come to fruition!

Great pattern picks! I can't wait to see that cardigan sewn up. I hit the pattern sale today too, but only came out with one coat pattern. :]

I was planning on picking up Butterick 5356 because of a Miu Miu dress I saw (and pinned on one of my Pintrest boards)! Identical neck/shoulder line as the top. Do you know what fabric you're going to use yet?

I bought a couple of these patterns on my last BMV bulk order. The pleated dress is on my wish list - I should have ordered it for the maxi dress, but didn't notice it.

@Sharon: I have a variety of different solid silky blouse weight fabrics in my stash. The original is wool crepe, and I just love the color. I have a piece of ivory 4-ply silk that would get so much use paired with skirts and pants, I may use that once I perfect the fit!

Nice pattern haul. I can see how the Butterick and MuuMuu will work. Looking forward to seeing your version.
