So, last night I sewed for fun. I thought about all the fabric and patterns and projects I could dig my fingers into last night... and came up with one that made me smile, jump up, and run downstairs. I dug through my stuff and found exactly what I needed. Would I have enough time to finish it? It'll be a pinch, but it's possible.
What is it?
I can't tell you.
It's a Christmas gift for DH, and he's a reader here, so you'll have to wait a week to see. Sorry!
See... I told you it was the most useless blog post! So, I ask...
What gift are giving this holiday that brings you the most excitement to hand over? It's okay to share here, your loved ones will never find it!

Well, in theory I'm knitting both my girls knit skirts with fuzzy trim at the bottom. Uh... is a fairly theoretical project at the moment (although I do have the yarn). They'll love them tho, if I get them done.
I take it I'm not allowed to say the earrings that I bought for DH to give to me for Christmas?
:D
My most exciting gift and what has given me such great pleasure to make is --- DOLLY CLOTHES. They are like potato chips and you just can't stop making them.
Two things: I'm making a leopard print polar fleece robe for my bf's mother. It'll be so warm and cozy, I'm going to want to go get more fab and make one for myself... and a little coat for my brother's little chihuahua.
I'm giving my Hunny a new travel mug with a picture of our daughter and grandson on it! I plan to serve his Christmas morning coffee in it to surprise him!
I am excited about the quilt I made my mom this year.
No wee ones in our family to sew for, so I was having lots of fun in late November putting together shoe boxes of goodies for Samaritan's Purse, a relief organization that helps throughout the world

I was very pleased to give my oldest niece a pair of silver candlesticks that were given to my parents on their wedding day, October 9, 1954. My niece also got married on October 9 (2009), so I thought it fitting that she should have them.
Ah well, no excitement here because the kids are of the age where they are very specific about what they want. I did get DH a toy flying helicopter he saw at Brookstone and thought was cool but told me not to buy for him.
