February Productivity - Way Down!!!

Maybe it was the weather.
Maybe it was a result of too busy of a January.
Maybe it was something else.

But I did next to NO SEWING in February.  Today, I finally hemmed the dress I've been working on since January for the Vintage Sew Along (pics are there), and that is it.

Mojo is gone. Absent.  Nada.
I have plenty to work on (Communion Dress, hello?!?!), just find myself in no hurry to run downstairs and get moving on any project at all.  So weird.  I don't like it at all, and Bo keeps making me feel even worse about it.  It's happened before, I'm sure it'll happen again, but I've got to get over this funk.  That's it, I'm heading down there right now.  Later!

February sucks, it's official, and almost over!!

I like the plum blossoms in your background, they're just starting to bloom over here.

I've had trouble with the mojo since Christmas I think! I don't know what it is, but the weather sounds as good an excuse as any other!

The vintage dress is beautiful!

Wishing you a return of the mojo! Mine has taken a brief leave, but I feel like it's coming back!!! :)

You'll get your mojo back. :) Just blame it on the weather.

Very cute dress! I know what you mean about funk - my dress for the vintage sew along has been waiting for buttons, buttonholes and hem for almost 2 weeks now. I've promised myself I WILL finish it tomorrow afternoon.

It happens! I haven't been into sewing in a while. Finally decided the sewing area needed sprucing up because it wasn't a fun place to be. My "stuff" was overwhelming me. Bought a new cabinet for storage, put it together yesterday and have started organizing it. The discovery of your blog has motivated me. So maybe I caught your mojo??? Your projects are beautifully done.

Oh, I totally understand about the capricious nature of sewing "mojo". I think it is the time of year since so many have complained about it. But yours will return and I think your successful vintage dress should encourage you!

I absolutely LOVE that fabric! It would certainly jump start my mojo.

February just downright sucks. If you can see the end of the month with this fabulous dress completed you are way ahead of a lot of us. My mojo disappeared too, but in the past day or so has definitely come back. Sometimes you just have to dig in and it will show back up.

I love your dress. I have really been toying with the idea of larger prints for me. Me=small. Prints=large. So I am not sure it will work. But it sure would feel "non" winter and that's where I am right now. Sew summer or sew nothing!!!

I also find I have no mojo, and like another commenter I think it has something to do with my workspace. It's just so small! No room for anything, not even more organization will help. I have to keep sewing, though, because I teach sewing and if I'm not sewing my teaching skills drop.

Meh.

Sometimes I want to skip forward to Finished Objects. And I think since I've been experimenting a lot lately with mixed results, it makes me feel sub-par.

Anyway, your dress is way cute and if that's not encouragement, I don't know what is!!

Don't worry, your mojo will come back. These things run in cycles and it is ok to take a break once in a while.

Pretty dress! Oh, spring, spring, show yourself! Lapses happen. One day, you will suddenly have a burst of enthusiasm and creativity. I think our creative brain just needs a rest from time to time. Dry spells happen to all artists.

I didn't get much done either - not too cold, but too hot. It is always a busy month as the kids return to school after our long summer break.

I hear ya sista! If you check my blog, you'll see I've sewn NOTHING since December. What is in the air?!?!
I can't wait for winter to be GONE, Baby, GONE!

I agree with you totally about February, I'm so glad it's over! Looking forward to a very "sew" filled March to start spring off just right! Love your dress and the fabric is beautiful!!

Somebody stole my mojo, too. What I did sew in Feb. were all repeats of patterns I have made before. BORING, no? Hopefully March will be better.

Your dress turned out fantastic, that print is to die for!

The dress is so pretty. I just saw a girl on a program this morning that had that fabric in a similar style dress ...sew serendipity
