Here we are all bundled up at the bonfire on our first night (I love the smell of a campfire!). What you can't see in the picture is DH's left hand. The day before he was injured at a house fire when a window was broken above him. The shattered glass fell on his left *almost gloved hand* (he was putting it on when he was injured), and he had to go to the hospital for 21 stitches. Thankfully, there was no nerve or tendon damage, but he did offer to share a picture of his wound with all of you (since it is a "sewing blog" and he's got so many stitches to share!). It's pretty gross, so I'll spare you! He's such a trooper, didn't want to cancel the trip knowing how excited the kids were, he just took his pain meds (and napped) and we all had a great time.
Happy Memorial Day to all. I hugged a veteran today, did you? (DH was a Navy guy, gotta love a man in uniform!) Here is one of my favorite non-sewing blogs, and his reminder on this Memorial Day is an amazing read.

Your DH sounds like a hoot...show us his stitches, indeed!
Glad you enjoyed your camping expedition. My parents have a 5th wheel trailer and there is no way I could go back to tents!! Oh, the humanity!
Ouch!!!!! Glad you had a fun weekend!
Sounds like a fun holiday! Hope husband's hand heals up fast.
Thank you so much for the link. I was so impressed I passed it along to another forum. It said it all so eloquently.
Looks like a great weekend was had and hope DH gets better soon. 21! Yikes!
You guys all look so happy. Enjoy it! Soon your kids will run a mile from a family camping weekend.
I love camping. A girlfriend and I are contemplating going camping with the kids. It would be two adults and six kids under 5 years of age. She has an older and two younger twins too. I'm debating if there is enough wine in the world.
Aww, you guys look so cute all bundled up together. I totally think RVing is camping! Or at least that's the only type of camping I'll do. I'm glad you had so much fun!
